Support for Learning

Overview

The support for learning staff are committed to supporting pupils with learning difficulties and their teachers within the framework of staged intervention and the roles of learning support.

Duties include

Support for learning staff function as key workers for pupils within staged intervention. They deliver courses at Access 1, 2 and 3 as well as ASDAN courses. Some of the staff are also mainstream teachers.

  • preparing and chairing staged intervention meetings

  • collating and sharing information about pupils
  • designing and maintaining Individualised Education Plans (IEPs)
